Gut Health is Overall Health
September 30, 2020

It’s a brand new month. Cooler air, colorful leaves, sweaters, boots, pumpkins, football, and of course, Thanksgiving. Yes, it’s the day of feasting and wearing stretchy pants!

Here are a few tips to get your November off to a healthy start.

  • Eat what’s in season. Fruits and vegetables that are in season are not only fresher, but more nutritious. Apples, squash, cranberries, oranges, pears, pomegranates, beets, brussel sprouts, and turnips all are in season, ripe and ready to add brightness, color, flavor, and healthy nutrients to your fall and winter meals. Take an afternoon stroll to your local farmer’s market and load up your baskets!
  • Keep your immune system strong. The pandemic is still here, and so is cold and flu season. Vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, and B vitamins are important nutrients for our immune system. Eating brightly colored fruits and vegetables, along with support from whole foods based supplements and herbals can help support our immunity. Consider having your nutrient levels tested with a Micronutrient Panel or Biofeedback Therapy in order to know exactly what nutrients your body needs.
  • Try a liver detox. The liver is one of the hardest working organs in the body. Its many functions include detoxifying blood, producing bile to digest fats, and storing vitamins, minerals, and iron. When we have liver dysfunction, we can have digestion issues, weight gain, high blood pressure levels, fatigue, anxiety, and a poor appetite. The good news is that you can improve liver function with a healthy liver detox or cleanse. At The Wellness Centre, we have liver detox programs that are easy, safe, and healthy. It’s a brand new month, so let’s press that reset button and get off to a fresh start!

Eating a well-balanced nutrient dense diet, staying active, getting restful sleep, immune boosting herbals, and whole foods based supplements are all keys to staying healthy this fall and winter season.

Give us a call today, and we can get you on your way to a healthy November!

Stay strong and healthy!
